Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a 10-week winter coverage assignment requiring multi-specialty surgical experience and a CT/Compact RN license.

Details

  • Operating Room unit in a Level I Trauma Center, academic medical center with 1,000+ staffed beds
  • Day shift schedule, either 4x10 hours (7:00-17:30) or 5x8 hours (7:00-15:30)
  • Occasional 10:45-19:15 shift required
  • Weekend work required
  • Weekend on-call required (7:00-15:00)
  • Surgical specialties include GYN, ENT, Plastics, General Surgery, and Ophthalmology
  • Robotic surgery experience (Da Vinci Xi) is a plus
  • Epic charting system used, experience required
  • Scrubs provided

Requirements

  • Active CT or Compact RN license required
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required (1.5 years considered with Level I Trauma or travel experience)
  • Experience in GYN, ENT, Plastics, General Surgery, and Ophthalmology procedures required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Trauma Center experience at a large facility required
  • Pending license candidates accepted
  • 1 professional reference required

Additional Information

  • 10-week winter coverage assignment only, must start by 12/18/2026
  • Local radius restrictions waived for this assignment
  • No holiday RTO permitted
  • Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Previously employed permanent staff must have a 2-year gap before returning as a traveler
  • Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
  • COVID vaccine and booster required, with only religious or medical exemptions accepted
  • Must be willing to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
