Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Operating Room – Fortuna, CA 95540

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Fortuna, California

Schedule: Day shift, 5x8-Hour (07:00 - 15:30). On-call required 2 days per week, including holidays and weekends. Three 24-hour on-call weekend shifts per month.

Highlights:

• 6-month travel assignment in a rural community hospital setting
• Dual-role position: both circulating and recovery responsibilities
• 3 operating rooms with diverse patient population including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• 40 hours of paid orientation to ensure successful onboarding
• Enhanced winter rate period from October 2026 through February 2027

Requirements:

• Active Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room nursing experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• Endoscopy experience required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Experience with general OR, ambulatory OR, and PACU/Recovery
• Proficiency in procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, colonoscopy, EGD, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, and total joint replacement
• 2 professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Clean background check required
• Commitment to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
