Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring orthopedics and ophthalmology specialty experience and an active CA RN license.

Details

• 13-week assignment in the Operating Room department
• Specialty procedures include orthopedics and ophthalmology
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
• On-call required 3 hours after shift, 1-2 times per week
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active CA RN license (Temporary or Permanent, no EMSA) in hand at time of consideration
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of total travel nursing experience required
• Minimum 6 months of continuous travel experience immediately preceding consideration, with no significant gaps
• Minimum 1.5 years of continuous experience in the Operating Room specialty
• Epic or combined Epic/Cerner experience required within the last 6 months
• 1 supervisory-level professional reference required
• Valid copies of all required certifications and Nursys verification required for consideration

Additional Information

• Interview availability required, including three specific days and times with time zone noted
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Returning permanent staff and returning travelers eligible to return after 1 year
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed, with no additional RTO requests permitted after consideration
• Candidates must not reside within 100 miles of the facility to be eligible, with exceptions for LVNs/MAs
• Candidates who have been on assignment in San Diego for 9+ months or more are considered local and are not eligible
• ICU, SDU, and Tele RNs are required to float at or below skillset and may occasionally float to another campus or location depending on needs; float requirements for this unit should be discussed during interview if not specified
