Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN to circulate cardiac and transplant cases in a high-acuity academic medical center, requiring 3-4 years of OR experience.

Details

• Operating Room unit in an academic teaching hospital setting
• Sole circulator role covering all assigned cases
• 28 operating rooms with average daily census of 50-75
• Patient population includes orthopedic sports, minimally invasive arthroscopic and laparoscopic cases, robotics, general, GYN, urology, and plastics cases
• Neuro, spine, thoracic, and vascular experience a plus
• Night shift, 4x10 hours, 2100-0730
• No call requirements
• May also perform charge nurse duties
• Floating within the hospital required, including to other specialties during slow periods
• No floating to sister hospitals
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 3-4 years of OR circulating experience required
• Strong experience in cardiac and transplant case circulation required
• Experience with multiple service lines preferred, including cardiac and robotic surgery
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred but not required

Additional Information

• Work in a Magnet-designated, high-acuity academic teaching environment
• Scrubs provided for OR personnel; any color accepted
• Circulate cases across a wide range of specialties including vascular, gynecology, plastics, neurology, orthopedics, cardiovascular, general surgery, urology, robotics, ENT, bariatrics, and thoracic surgery
• First-time travelers considered if candidate has 3+ years of experience
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• RTO limited to a maximum of 1 week and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of assignment
• Former UW Medical Center staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
