American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN to circulate cardiac and transplant cases on night shift with strong neuro and multi-service line skills preferred.

Details

  • Operating Room unit in a busy, high-acuity academic medical center
  • Sole circulating RN role, must be willing to circulate ALL cases
  • Patient population includes orthopedic sports, minimally invasive arthroscopic and laparoscopic cases, robotics, general, GYN, urology, and plastics
  • Cardiac and transplant case circulating required, with preference for experience in multiple service lines such as cardiac and robotic surgery
  • Experience with neuro, spine, thoracic, and vascular procedures a plus
  • Night shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 21:00-07:30, no call required
  • Average daily census of 50-75 with 28 rooms, floating to other specialties during low census periods
  • Floating within the hospital required, no floating to sister hospitals
  • May be required to perform charge nurse duties
  • Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 3-4 years of OR RN experience required
  • Strong neuro experience required, with additional experience in cardiac and robotic surgery preferred
  • Prior charge nurse experience preferred
  • Travel experience preferred, though first-time travelers with 3+ years of experience will be considered
  • EPIC charting experience preferred but not required
  • COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions

  • Works in a Magnet-designated, teaching academic medical center
  • Scrubs provided for all OR personnel, any color accepted
  • Circulates cases across multiple specialties including orthopedic, GYN, urology, plastics, and general surgery
  • First-time travelers accepted if they meet minimum experience requirements
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
  • RTO limited to a maximum of 1 week and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of assignment
  • Former UW Medical Center staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
