Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Summary

A professional caregiver who plans, provides, and directs patient care and education by utilizing the nursing process according to patient care standards and physician orders. The Registered Nurse assesses patient needs, develops a comprehensive plan of care with goals and outcomes, and fosters therapeutic relationships with patients and their families. Collaboration with healthcare teams is essential, and the nurse may engage in departmental and health center committees, alongside mentoring others in professional development.

Education

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required

Required Experience

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in an acute care setting
• Experience in travel nursing is required
• Candidates must complete approximately 70 Net Learning modules and pass the ECG/Medication exam with a score of 80% or higher within one week of acceptance into the role

Required Certifications

• Current Ohio State Board of Nursing license
• BLS Certification
• ACLS Certification
• PALS Certification

Position Responsibilities/Expectations

• Conduct comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments of patients, including evaluations of safety and educational needs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to establish and communicate a plan of care based on assessment data.
• Implement and evaluate the care plan, adjusting it based on reassessment of patient status and needs.
• Document patient information accurately in accordance with established standards.
• Identify educational needs of patients and their families, implementing individualized teaching plans.
• Take a leadership role in nursing or unit-based initiatives, including conducting educational in-services and participating in committees.
• Provide patient care that is appropriate for the specific age group being served.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and professional standards in all functions.
• Deliver exceptional service to all customers, aligning with standards of performance consistently.
