Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Operating Room position requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

• Multidiscipline surgical services department with four operating rooms and four procedure rooms serving over 9,000 patients per year
• Services include endoscopy, pain management, ENT, general surgery, hand and foot surgery, and orthopedic procedures
• 4x10-hour day shifts, typically 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Monthly weekend requirement
• Call requirement of twice monthly
• Possible holiday shift if contract falls within a holiday period

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact)
• Current BLS certification
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior OR experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with care team members
• Last 4 digits of SSN and month/day of date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessment, treatment implementation, and discharge planning within the surgical services unit
• Coordinate care across the interdisciplinary team and delegate tasks appropriately to other staff members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures such as patient satisfaction and safety metrics
• Must reside within 75 miles of the facility; candidates within this radius may be considered at a local rate
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
