Travel Nursing Job Details

• Position: Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
• Employment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Location: Winchester, Virginia 22601
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• End Date: February 1, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250-$2,370
• Schedule: 4 shifts per week; 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Shift Duration: 10-hour day shifts
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirements: Weekend coverage may be requested
• On-Call Requirement: Approximately 6-8 call shifts per month
• Operating Room Environment: 17 operating rooms
• Advanced Surgical Technology: MAZOR robot, Stealth navigation, O-Arm, and ROSA systems
• Dress Code: Blue scrubs in accordance with department policy

Operating Room RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia
• At least 2 years of recent operating room or perioperative nursing experience
• Experience with orthopedic, robotic, urology, oncology, thoracic, general, neurological, vascular, breast, and plastic surgery procedures
• Operating room neurosurgery experience required
• Brain and spine surgical experience preferred
• Epic electronic medical record (EMR) experience required
• Current ACL certification
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Ability to participate in weekend and on-call coverage as scheduled

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide skilled perioperative nursing care throughout a variety of surgical procedures
• Support neurosurgical, orthopedic, robotic, thoracic, vascular, urologic, oncology, general, breast, and plastic surgery cases
• Apply operating room nursing expertise to complex brain and spine procedures
• Promote patient safety, surgical asepsis, and effective coordination throughout the perioperative process
• Safely assist with cases involving advanced robotic, navigation, and surgical imaging systems
• Document patient care and surgical activities accurately in Epic
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and the broader perioperative team
• Participate in scheduled call coverage and weekend assignments when required
