Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - Operating Room for a travel assignment requiring an active NJ or compact RN license and the ability to scrub and circulate on robotics, ortho, neuro, and general surgery cases.
Details
- Operating Room department within a hospital setting
- Must be able to scrub and circulate on robotics, orthopedic, neuro, and general surgery cases
- Performs pre-operative assessments, post-operative assessments, and pre-admission testing evaluations
- Schedule consists of 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (11a-12a)
- 36 hours per week
- On-call responsibilities required
- Must be willing to float, including to a sister hospital nearby
- Uses Epic for charting
Requirements
- Active NJ or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- CNOR certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Additional Information
- Delivers competent nursing care across all patient age groups from pediatric to geriatric
- Performs thorough, systematic patient assessments and maintains accurate documentation
- Individualizes patient care according to surgical procedure and type of anesthesia
- Provides patient and family education regarding surgical procedures and instructions
- Evaluates pre-admission testing orders for appropriateness based on procedure, age, and health status
- Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol and two-patient identifier verification
- Contributes to the perioperative team by prioritizing patient care based on need and condition changes
