Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 3+ years of OR specialty experience and a Compact or LA RN license.

Details

  • Operating Room unit with an average daily census of 11 cases across 5 rooms
  • Adult and geriatric patient population
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
  • Call requirements include one weekend (Friday-Sunday) per month, one call day per week, one late day per week, and one 3rd late shift per week
  • Scrubs are provided
  • Procedures performed include general, urology, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedic, vascular, pulmonary, and endoscopy cases
  • 1:1 patient ratio experience
  • Epic charting system experience preferred

Requirements

  • Active Compact or LA RN license required in hand at time of submission
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 3 years of OR specialty experience required
  • Experience with a wide range of surgical specialties including gynecology, orthopedics, general surgery, vascular, endoscopy, ophthalmology, and urology procedures
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
  • Driver's license required for consideration
  • Up-to-date NURSYS report required for consideration

Additional Information

  • May be assigned to an Emergency Team requiring the traveler to remain onsite or serve on a relief team during emergency events
  • Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
  • Orientation is held 5 days a week
  • Two Manager/Supervisor references (not Charge RN) required to obtain clearance to start, though not required at time of consideration
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates must live more than 65 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
  • Former permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated from the health system for a full year before returning as a travel employee
  • RTO must be listed on the candidate profile and discussed during the interview to avoid offer rescindment
