Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of OR experience and prior travel experience.

Details

  • Operating Room unit with 9 rooms
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
  • No floating between unlike units required, though floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is expected
  • On-call requirements include 2 night calls and 3 weekend calls per month
  • Night call shifts run 11 PM-7 AM; weekend call shifts are 7 AM-3 PM, 3 PM-11 PM, or 11 PM-7 AM
  • Uses SIS charting system
  • Level 1 Trauma, teaching hospital setting with 228 staffed beds

Requirements

  • Active DC RN license required
  • BLS certification required
  • CNOR and CST certifications preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Experience needed in a majority of the following specialties: Neurology (ALIF, anterior cervical fusion, cervical fusions, craniotomy, kyphoplasty, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion, XLIF), General Surgery (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic procedures, thyroidectomy, Whipple), Orthopedic (arthroscopy, total joint replacement), Ophthalmology (cataract extraction/implant, eye trauma, glaucoma surgery), and Robotics (colorectal, gastrointestinal, gynecologic, neurological, orthopedic, otolaryngologic, TORS, urologic)

  • Candidates must have been gone from the facility for at least 1 year if previously employed there
