Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Operating Room position at a Level 1 trauma hospital, requiring circulating experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Position based in the Main OR of a 1000+ bed hospital with an OR Float Pool unit
• Facility includes a 56-bed OR (inpatient and outpatient) plus 5 procedural rooms
• Level 1 trauma center supporting all service lines except cardiac, transplant, trauma/neuro
• Case types include neuro, trauma, general, ortho, GYN, urology, ENT, plastics, cardiothoracic, vascular, transplant (liver, renal, pancreas), robotic, hybrid rooms (cysto, bronch, lead extraction), ambulatory ortho, burn, and hepatic-biliary
• Adult patient population only; pediatric cases are handled at a separate Children's Hospital OR
• 12-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with hours varying between 9a-9p based on unit need
• No block schedule offered
• May float between ORs but not between facility locations
• Late stay coverage required, typically limited to up to four instances within a 13-week period

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required, must be on file at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years of OR experience required
• Circulating experience required; scrub experience not required
• Prior travel nursing experience required

Additional Information

• Contract length is fixed at 26 weeks; shorter durations will not be considered
• Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 major holidays with limited time off approval
• Orientation start dates are set periodically; specific dates apply and some weeks are excluded
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate under a 75-mile radius rule
• First-time travelers will not be considered due to the prior travel experience requirement
