Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with strong orthopedic circulating experience for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring 1 year of OR experience and Epic charting exposure.

Details

• Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Circulates cases in orthopedics, spine, robotics, and general surgery
• Exposure to a wide range of surgical specialties including thoracic, urology, gynecology, ENT, plastics, podiatry, bariatrics, and robotics procedures
• Uses advanced equipment such as cell saver, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Hana Table
• Robotic surgery systems used include Da Vinci Xi, Da Vinci SP, and Mako Surgical System
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active RN license (NJ State or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room RN experience required
• Strong orthopedic surgical experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience circulating a broad range of surgical procedures including orthopedic, spine, general, and robotic-assisted cases

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include circulating in multiple surgical specialties with a strong emphasis on orthopedic and spine cases
• Familiarity with emergency management protocols including fire safety, code response, latex allergy, and malignant hyperthermia response
• Knowledge of infection control, specimen handling, universal protocol time-out procedures, and wound management expected
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted for consideration at time of application
