Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Operating Room to circulate general/trauma cases with total joint, vascular, and robotics experience required in a Level II Trauma Center.

Details

• Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center with 492 beds
• Surgery unit with 15 OR beds, including 2 CVOR suites
• General/Trauma specialty role backing up Ortho, Neuro, and ENT services
• Minimal pediatric patient population, typically Ortho cases
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Circulating RN role only
• EMR: Cerner
• IV pumps: Plum 360
• Medication dispensing: Omnicell
• Monitors: Spacelabs
• 8-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week, starting at 6:30 AM
• No floating required
• On-call rotation required: one weekday and one weekend per month (Friday 3p-7a, Saturday 24 hours, Sunday 24 hours) with 30-minute response time
• 2-week day shift orientation with buddy call expected during orientation

Requirements

• Active AL or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Strong experience required in Trauma (excluding burns), Neuro, General, Vascular (including Endovascular), ENT, Ortho spine, Ortho total joint, Gyn, Urology, Plastics, Breast, and Eye cases
• Robotics experience preferred (Mazor or DaVinci XI)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required for first-time travelers
• Travelers with only 1 year of experience will not be considered

• Support provided by ORA, desk assistant, charge nurse, and service line team leaders

• Expected to work one holiday per contract per facility policy
• Time off requests must be approved through the manager
• Schedule cycle determined by department needs
• First-time travelers welcome to apply with at least 2 years of experience
• Previous perm staff must wait 6 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility
