Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with required craniotomy/burr hole experience for a 13-week assignment requiring TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • General OR setting supporting Neuro/Spine, Ortho/Trauma, and General/Robotics/Trauma cases
  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • Schedule of 3x12s Monday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Friday, with call and late days as required
  • Facility may consider alternate schedules such as 4x10s or 5x8s based on traveler preference
  • Uses Allscripts charting system, Altera experience preferred but not required
  • Da Vinci Xi Surgical System used for robotic procedures

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license required, license in hand at time of submission
  • BLS certification required; ACLS, CNOR, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of OR experience required in service line
  • Craniotomy and burr hole experience required
  • Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Skilled in trauma, neurology, orthopedic, and general surgery procedures including anterior cervical fusion, laminectomy/discectomy, spinal fusion, total joint replacement, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and robotic-assisted procedures
  • Travel experience preferred but not required

Additional Information

  • Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with any positive result resulting in automatic cancellation
  • Candidates should avoid CBD products or anything that could result in a positive drug screen upon arrival
  • RN/LVN candidates must reside within 150 miles for local radius eligibility rules
  • Local candidates are not accepted for this position
  • Previous permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year to return as a traveler
  • Clinicians must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting an offer or provide a completion plan
  • Non-billable orientation modules average 6-8 hours and are completed during orientation
  • Hard document due date is Thursday at 2pm CST prior to start, with some flexibility case-by-case
