Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)
About the Facility
Located in a vibrant city in the United States, the facility boasts:
- 492 Beds
- Level II Trauma Center
- Level III NICU
- Primary Stroke Center
General Information
- Number of Operating Room Beds: 15 (including 2 CVOR)
- Will accept first-time travelers with at least 2 years of experience
- Traveler's with less than 2 years of experience will not be accepted
Patient Types
Minimal pediatric cases, typically involving orthopedic procedures.
Patient Ratios
1:1 patient-to-nurse ratio.
Required Skills
- Extensive experience in the following areas:
- Trauma (excluding burns)
- Neuro
- General Surgery
- Vascular (including endovascular procedures)
- ENT
- Orthopedic spine
- Orthopedics (must have total joint experience)
- Gynecology
- Urology
- Robotics (both General and Neuro)
- Plastics
- Breast surgery
- Ophthalmology
- Registered Nurse will be required to circulate in the operating room.
- Preferable experience with robotic systems (Mazor / DaVinci XI).
- Candidates for Orthopedic RN positions must also have proficiency with vascular cases, as Orthopedics backs up vascular procedures.

- BLS
Support on the Unit
- Operating Room Assistant (ORA)
- Desk Assistant
- Charge Nurse
- Team Leaders for Service Lines
Technology and Equipment
- Electronic Medical Records: Cerner
- IV Pumps: Plum 360
- Medication Dispensing: Omnicell
- Monitors: Spacelabs
Orientation
Two weeks of orientation on day shift, with an expectation to take buddy call during this period.
Scheduling
- Weekend rotation required, including on-call duties
- On-call Schedule:
- One weekday (Friday 3 PM - 7 AM)
- One weekend per month (Saturday and Sunday 24 hours)
- 30-minute response time for on-call duties
- Holiday work is expected as per contract
- Requests for time off must go through management approval
- The schedule cycle is determined by departmental needs
