Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – 13-Week Contract in Columbus, Ohio

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Position: Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
• Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050–$2,160
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts, with 8- and 10-hour shifts also utilized based on unit needs
• Schedule: Rotating day/evening schedule; possible options include four 10-hour shifts, five 8-hour shifts, or a combination of 8- and 12-hour shifts. Four 10-hour shifts are not guaranteed.
• Call and Weekends: Call may be requested as needed, with variable weekend coverage
• Unit Profile: Approximately 20 operating rooms and an average daily census of 45 patients
• Charting: Epic
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics

Operating Room RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent operating room nursing or perioperative RN experience
• Active compact or Ohio Registered Nurse license in hand at the time of submission
• Current BLS/BCLS certification
• ACLS and CNOR credentials are strongly preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Circulating and scrubbing experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of surgical safety, infection prevention, specimen handling, universal protocol, and operating room equipment
• Ability to provide two professional references, including at least one reference from a manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader

Travel OR RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive perioperative nursing care throughout the surgical experience
• Circulate and scrub for a diverse range of procedures as needed
• Support general, thoracic, neuro, ENT, orthopedic, plastics, urology, gynecology, and oncology surgeries
• Participate in robotic and advanced procedures, including Da Vinci surgical cases, free flaps, VATS, thoracotomy, spinal procedures, and complex oncology surgeries
• Prepare operating rooms, verify equipment and supplies, and maintain a safe and sterile environment
• Complete accurate documentation and maintain patient records in Epic
• Perform specimen handling and labeling, time-outs, counts, medication safety checks, and other required surgical protocols
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to promote optimal patient outcomes
• Respond professionally to changing case assignments, rotating schedules, call needs, and weekend coverage requirements
