Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN - Operating Room with required BLS and ACLS certifications for a 13-week assignment, requiring a TX or compact RN license.

Details

  • Operating Room unit with 4 ORs
  • Staffing ratio of 1:1 patient to nurse
  • Day shift staffing includes 1 CNC and 5-6 RNs; night shift is call coverage only
  • Shift schedule is five 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday, with possible 4x10 shifts depending on department staffing
  • Specialized equipment includes daVinci Xi, Hologic Trident, Stryker laparoscopic towers, Hana table, and Olympus Cystoscopy Tower
  • EMR system used is Meditech
  • Procedures performed include orthopedic, general (robotic, laparoscopic, and open), colorectal (robotic), urological, and gynecological (robotic and laparoscopic) surgeries
  • No floating required
  • On-call coverage required as part of rotation with full-time staff, averaging 5-8 shifts per month including one weekend and evening weekday coverage

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Operating Room specialty
  • Meditech experience preferred
  • Prior HCA experience preferred
  • US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
  • One professional reference required
  • No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include pulling case carts, providing family updates by phone or Surgical Symphony text, and offering lunch/break relief
  • Acts as second nurse/support for after-hours recovery nurse
  • Facility-dispensed scrubs required
  • Candidates should have a positive attitude, proactive and efficient workflow, and work well within a team
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates will be considered
