Description

American Traveler is seeking an Operating Room RN for a Level I trauma academic medical center requiring SC or compact RN license and scrub experience.

Details

  • Main Operating Room within a Level I trauma, academic teaching hospital with 21 OR suites
  • Covers all surgical specialties including Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics
  • Nursing team is 75% RN and 25% Certified Surgical Technologist, with RNs trained to scrub and circulate
  • Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 6:30am-5:00pm
  • On-call required, up to 4 call shifts every 4 weeks
  • Weekend requirement of up to one working weekend shift every 4 weeks
  • Required to work at least one holiday period (Christmas or New Year's)
  • Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including sister facilities
  • EPIC charting system used

Requirements

  • Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
  • BLS certification required (AHA only)
  • Radiation badge required, provided by agency
  • 2 years of OR nursing experience strongly preferred
  • Scrub experience strongly preferred
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred
  • Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Work in a busy, nurse-driven, Magnet-designated department with cutting-edge surgical technology
  • Facility is a Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, and Magnet Hospital with 820 staffed beds
  • Scrubs provided by facility
  • Block scheduling may be accommodated pending manager approval and unit needs
  • During hurricane season (June-November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
  • First-time travelers considered depending on position
  • Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis
  • Radius rule of 60 miles applies, with non-local candidates prioritized
