Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring Level I Trauma and Neuro experience with night shift and call requirements.

Details

  • Work in the Operating Room department of an academic medical center
  • Cases include neurosurgery, spine, complex ortho/ortho spine, and complex general surgery including bariatric surgery
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 1830-0700
  • Scheduled for 36 hours per week
  • Holiday and weekend coverage required
  • Call requirements apply in addition to weekend shifts

Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • BLS certification required
  • NIHSS certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience or Surgical Tech experience required
  • Prior travel experience preferred but not required
  • Level I Trauma experience required
  • Neuro surgical experience required
  • ENT, GU, plastics, and burns experience preferred
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide surgical nursing support across a wide range of specialties including gynecology, plastics, trauma, neurology, general surgery, orthopedics, endoscopy, ophthalmology, robotics, urology, and ENT procedures
  • Experience with robotic surgical systems such as the Da Vinci Xi is relevant to this role
  • Work setting includes transplant surgeries such as heart, kidney, liver, and lung
  • Ohio fingerprinting is required promptly after signing the contract due to strict compliance timelines
  • Candidates residing outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location as soon as possible after booking
  • Candidates at extreme distances will be mailed a fingerprinting packet that must be completed urgently upon receipt
  • RTO must be requested and built into the contract at time of consideration, limited to 7 days or less
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
  • Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
  • Current employees of the health system are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location
