Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room (OR) in Canton, MS. This contract position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic surgical environment with a focus on patient care and safety.

As an RN in the OR, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. The facility has 67 beds, with 4 operating rooms and 1 procedure room, managing approximately 15-22 cases per day. You will work a day shift from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM, Monday through Friday, with a call requirement of 2 weekdays and 1 weekend per month.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using Epic charting.
• Participate in on-unit orientation and healthstream virtual education.

Requirements:

• Active RN license in the state of Mississippi.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Operating Room setting.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (if handling pediatric cases).
• Flu vaccine is required; only medical exemptions are accepted with documented evidence.
• Fingerprint requirement: Remote process must allow 10 days; in-person can be done at Jackson or Grenada campus prior to start.

This position does not require scrubbing or circulating. The facility utilizes Omnicel for medication management and Epic for charting. Orientation consists of on-unit training, healthstream virtual education, and a one-week orientation period.
