Staffing: Varies with volume, includes 1 Charge RN, 2-3 Registered Nurses, 2 Technicians, and a Clinical Coordinator.
General Information
- Day Shift: 1 Charge RN, 2-3 RNs, 2 Technicians, Clinical Coordinator
- Night Shift: 1 Charge RN, 2-3 RNs, 2 Technicians, Clinical Coordinator
- Patient Ratios: 3:1
- Type of equipment utilized: X-rays, preoperative tools, anesthesiology equipment, lab equipment, electrocardiography, EKG
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Meditech
Responsibilities
As an Operating Room Registered Nurse, the role entails:
- Observation, assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care for all patients.
- Participation in a variety of surgical procedures, including but not limited to joint replacements, ENT, orthopedics, spine, urology, vascular, podiatry, thoracic, and plastic surgeries.
Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Certification: ACLS, BLS
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of current experience in an acute operating room setting, with specific experience in orthopedic, spine, and joint replacement procedures.
- Preferred Certifications: PALS, CNOR, and any charge experience are advantageous.

Dress Code
Required attire includes:
- Scrub Color: Navy blue or royal blue. Surgical type scrubs are not acceptable.
Unit Policies and Guidelines
- Ability to scrub and assist in all service lines is expected.
- Weekend rotation may be required.
- On-call requirements include two weeknight and two weekend calls (24-hour shifts), as well as one holiday call (if applicable during the four-week period).
