Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR)

Shift

• Preferred: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
• Flexible: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM or 12:00 PM – 12:00 AM
• Available schedules: 4×10-hour shifts or 3×12-hour shifts

Surgical Specialties

The OR provides care for a wide variety of surgical procedures, including:

• General Surgery
• Neuro/Neurosurgery
• Spine
• Orthopedics
• Robotic Surgery
• Vascular Surgery
• Other surgical procedures

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of relevant OR nursing experience
• Experience in a Level III Trauma Center preferred/required per facility requirements
• BSN preferred
• Must be able to manage routine and complex clinical situations.

Required License & Certifications

• Active RN License in Texas or Compact State
• BLS – AHA required
• ACLS – AHA required
• PALS – AHA required

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Provide routine and complex patient care.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
• Monitor patients for treatment effectiveness and potential side effects.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess and address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Educate patients, family members, and caregivers.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to other healthcare providers.
• Respond effectively to changing and complex clinical situations.
