Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of general OR circulating and scrubbing experience.

Details

  • Work in the General Operating Room department of a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated teaching hospital
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Circulate and scrub general surgery cases including Surgical Oncology, Colorectal, MIS (DaVinci), Plastics, Endocrine, Panc/Bili, and Bariatrics
  • On-call required, approximately 4-6 call shifts per 4-week period
  • Holiday call may be required
  • Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

  • Active SC or Compact RN license required in hand at start of contract
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
  • Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Must provide own radiation badge (provided by staffing agency)
  • Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Circulate and scrub a variety of general surgery procedures in a fast-paced OR environment
  • During hurricane season (June-November, peak August-September), all staff including travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams
  • First-time travelers considered only with 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Previous MUSC perm staff (including PRN) must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be considered a non-local candidate; local candidates considered case-by-case at a reduced rate
  • All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application for consideration
