Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Operating Room position requiring at least 2 years of pediatric OR experience and prior travel contract experience.

Details

• Pediatric General OR unit within a children's hospital setting
• Facility has 8 ORs total, with only 2 operational overnight
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Night shift covers urgent/emergent add-on cases only
• Weekend work required, likely limited to Friday nights
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within scope may be required if needed, though unlikely for this essential position
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active SC or Compact RN license required (SC license in hand preferred; candidates with pending SC license may be considered)
• BLS certification required (AHA certifications only)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a pediatric setting required
• Minimum 2 prior traveler contracts required in this specialty setting
• Pediatric and/or women's surgery experience preferred
• Skills in emergency management, code response, fire safety, latex allergy protocols, and malignant hyperthermia response required
• SSN and driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care in a pediatric surgical setting
• Radiation badge will be provided by parent company
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Local candidates are accepted; radius rule is 60 miles from the facility
• Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All RTO must be submitted at time of application and is subject to facility approval
• May be called off up to 10 hours per 2-week period
• Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September)
