Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit Information

Facility Location: Miami, FL

Unit: OR RN (701)

• Number of Beds: 20 rooms
• Staffing: 110 total staff members, including Director, Charge RN, OR Coordinators, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and CRNA’s
• Day Shift: 18 teams total, including 18 RNs and 18 techs
• Night Shift: 2 teams, 1 on-call team based on staffing and volume
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Equipment: Sterile accessories, circulators, sponges, gowning, gloving, tubing, cords, and incision materials
• Documentation System: Meditech Experience required
• Call Requirements: 2 weekend shifts (8 hours), 4 evening shifts (4 hours), 1 overnight shift (8 hours) per month

Typical Hiring Profile

Must Have:

• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• At least 2 years of recent experience in an acute hospital setting, not a surgical center
• Strong experience in orthopedic, neurological, and robotic surgeries, with willingness to float among various specialties within the OR
• Experience with Meditech

Typical Procedures Performed:

• Robotic surgeries including Da Vinci systems
• Orthopedic procedures utilizing Mako technology
• Neurosurgery with Stealth navigation
• Burn treatments
• Endoscopic, laparoscopic, ENT, and eye procedures
• Trauma surgeries for pediatrics and adults
• Endovascular hybrid cases involving implants and specimen documentation

Role Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms and arrange necessary equipment
• Assist surgeons during operations while maintaining a 30-minute turnaround time
• Inspect, maintain, decontaminate, and repair surgical equipment
• Keep accurate inventory records and manage pre- and post-surgical tasks, including patient transport and dressing application

Additional Preferences

• Experience in a fast-paced environment with the ability to work independently

Provided scrubs in Ciel blue; bring your own lock and working shoes.
