Operating Room Nurse

Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse plays a vital role in providing patient care in the operating room environment. This position requires critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and strong leadership abilities to anticipate and plan care for patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, operating room technicians, and other medical personnel during surgical procedures.
• Ensure the timely availability of surgical supplies and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with patients' families regarding surgical procedures and patient care.
• Maintain and update physician preference cards as necessary.
• Assist in scrubbing and providing direct support during surgical cases.
• Supervise and guide personnel delivering patient care in the operating room.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license in the state of practice.
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the operating room setting.
• Proficient in Cerner EMR.
• Experience with service lines including General, Urology, Spine, GYN, Orthopedic, Plastics, Breast surgery, and Robotics.

Additional Information

Applicants should be prepared to float between multiple locations as needed, and must complete AHCA fingerprinting clearance prior to the start of employment.
