Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring strong experience in neuro, ortho, transplant, trauma, and vascular procedures.
Details
- Work in the Operating Room department of a Level I trauma teaching hospital
- Circulate independently on off shifts
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Day/Evening 12-hour shifts, 0700-1900, every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
- No call responsibilities
- Floating required as needed
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active WI or Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Minimum two years of acute care experience within the last three years in the OR specialty
- Strong experience required in neuro, ortho, transplant (kidney/liver), trauma, and vascular procedures
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Pass/fail telemetry exam required prior to start with strict passing criteria
Additional Information
- Circulate independently in the OR during off-shift hours
- Must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted
- First-time travelers will be considered if they have a minimum of five years of experience in a Level I trauma facility
- Facility is a Magnet-designated hospital ranked #1 in Wisconsin and recognized as a leading academic teaching and referral center
- Telemetry exam includes adult and pediatric rhythm identification with up to two attempts to pass; a third attempt requires completion of a cardiac interpretation review course
