Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Operating Room. The position supports adult and geriatric surgical patients in a 10-hour day-shift operating room setting. Responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating for complex neurosurgical and other surgical procedures, with potential reassignment to other departments or facilities based on operational needs.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shift, 10 hours per shift, 40 hours per week; weekend coverage is variable and may occur approximately once per month.
- Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse license in hand; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; minimum of 3 years of experience; previous travel assignment experience; scrub and circulating experience; previous charge experience; teaching hospital experience; experience with required charting systems; proficiency with Epic; and competence in neurosurgical procedures, including neurovascular, functional, peripheral nerve, and neuro-oncological specialties.
- Preferred Qualifications: Oncology Nursing Certification (CNOR) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Additional Information: The role includes scrubbing and circulating for open, laparoscopic, robotic, vascular, gynecologic, thoracic, orthopedic, transplant, urologic, cardiovascular, and neurosurgical procedures. The surgical environment includes 28 operating rooms and supports laparoscopic cases, robotic cases, open abdominal cases, and cystoscopy procedures. Patient populations include adults and geriatrics.
