Job Requirements

• Minimum 2.5 years of recent OR nursing experience
• Current Registered Nurse license active in Illinois
• BLS required
• CNOR preferred
• Previous Level I trauma experience required
• General OR and trauma experience required
• Experience with Cerner preferred
• Must be comfortable working within a broad surgical case mix
• Travel nursing experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility
• No first-time travelers accepted

Responsibilities

• Provide circulating RN support for a wide variety of surgical cases
• Work collaboratively across multiple service lines except cardiovascular surgery
• Support general surgery, trauma, neurology, orthopedics, plastics, transplant, urology, and emergency response cases
• Assist with complex procedures including laparoscopic surgeries, spine cases, craniotomies, fractures, microvascular free flap cases, and organ donation cases
• Maintain safe, efficient operating room workflow while following universal protocol and infection control standards
• Support equipment and instrumentation needs, including electrosurgical units, fiber optic systems, and Hana tables
• Respond to emergency situations including code response, fire safety, latex allergy precautions, and malignant hyperthermia protocols
• Ensure accurate specimen handling, blood product administration, radiation safety, and urinary catheterization procedures
• Float within scope as needed to support facility needs
• Participate in on-call coverage and weekend rotation as scheduled
