Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) in Alaska. This role involves providing specialized perioperative nursing care within a dynamic, Level II trauma acute hospital setting. The OR RN will support various surgical procedures, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with the surgical team to deliver quality care during scheduled shifts.
Job Details
- Location: Alaska
- Position Description: OR RN must have AK RN license in hand for auto offer. This assignment is 13 weeks starting as soon as possible, with shifts scheduled as 3x12 or 4x10 days, varying start times between 6:45 AM 7:15 PM or 9:00 AM 9:30 PM.
- Certifications: BLS (Required), ACLS (Preferred), CNOR (Preferred)
- Skills and Experience: Proven experience in abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, hysterectomy, blood and blood products administration, various orthopedic and trauma procedures, and extensive surgical count and instrument handling. At least 2 years of OR experience is required; new graduates are not accepted.
- Schedule: 10-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week, guaranteed 60 hours per two-week period, with potential for limited call coverage for call-offs.
- Additional Requirements: Previous charge experience, experience charting with Epic, ability to float within scope if needed, willingness to work holidays (2 out of 3 major holidays).
- Submission Notes: Must include RTO requests in application. Pending licenses are accepted but must be active for auto offer. References covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years are required.
- Operational Details: Must be willing to float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals. Providers may be responsible for work-related cell phone costs if devices are not provided. Housing options should be explored locally as options may be limited.
