Job Summary
The organization is seeking a qualified Operating Room (OR) Nurse for an acute care hospital in Springfield, Illinois. This role involves supporting all service lines except cardiovascular, with a focus on general surgery and trauma cases. The candidate will work in a Level I trauma center environment, providing specialized perioperative care in a fast-paced setting.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days shift, 10-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of OR experience, Illinois nursing license in hand or in application process, BLS certification, 1 year of trauma experience, active IL license required.
- Preferred Qualifications: CNOR certification, Cerner charting system experience.
- Special Requirements: General surgery and Level I trauma experience required; bariatric laparoscopic cases, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, and other specified surgical procedures. Experience with neurology, orthopedic, plastic, transplant, urology, trauma, and emergency management skills is necessary.
- Additional Information: Candidate must be able to work with all service lines except cardiovascular, with experience in specific surgical procedures and equipment such as electrosurgical units, fiber optic cords, Hana tables, and Da Vinci Xi Surgical System. On-call duty required once per week, with the possibility of floating within scope but rarely necessary. No accommodations for block scheduling. Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility and have an active Illinois license. Orientation hours total 40, with mandatory completion of modules prior to start. Candidate is required to work two major holidays, and up to five non-holiday RTO days may be auto-approved.
