Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 2 years of OR experience and mandatory craniotomy/burr hole experience.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting
• Covers Neuro/Spine, Ortho/Trauma, and General/Robotics/Trauma surgical service lines
• Performs procedures including craniotomy, burr hole, spinal fusion, joint replacement, and robotic-assisted surgeries using the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday
• Call and late day coverage required as needed
• May float to another campus or acceptable unit, or both
• Allscripts charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) required in hand at time of submittal
• BLS certification required; ACLS, CNOR, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
• Craniotomy and burr hole experience required
• Experience with trauma, ortho/spine, and general surgery procedures preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II hospital experience preferred
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across neuro/spine, ortho/trauma, and general surgery/robotics cases
• Must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting offer or have a plan in place for timely completion
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, and candidates should avoid any substances that could result in a positive result, including CBD products
• Must reside within 150 miles to be considered a local candidate; local candidates are not accepted for this position
• Previous permanent staff must have separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position given the travel experience requirement
