Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) professional needed in a healthcare facility for a temporary assignment starting on 09/21/2026. The role involves providing specialized surgical support across multiple service lines, including trauma, robotics, neurology, orthopedics, and more. The position requires flexibility to float between campuses and participation in holidays as scheduled. The assignment offers an opportunity to contribute to a Level I trauma center environment with advanced surgical equipment and diverse caseload.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 09/21/2026 and ending on 12/21/2026.
- Required Qualifications: 24 months of current operating room experience, hospital or medical center experience prioritized; circulating or scrubbing experience required; highly preferred experience in general, DaVinci robotics, pediatrics, trauma, neurology, orthopedics (primarily trauma), gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, ENT, and vascular procedures; EPIC electronic medical systems experience within the previous 3 years required; trauma Level I experience highly preferred, Level II required; Iowa or multistate license needed at time of submission; BLS certification from AHA or ARC/Red Cross required; drivers license document required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-acuity cases, robotics, pediatrics, trauma, neurology, orthopedics, and transplants.
- Additional Information: The role involves working from 12-14 operating rooms routinely, with both scrub and circulate responsibilities preferred. The facility uses advanced surgical technologies, including three Da Vinci robots and Stealth neuro navigation. The caseload averages 35-50 cases daily with turnovers under 20 minutes. Weekend on-call coverage is from the end of shift on Friday until 06:30 AM Monday, with no on-call pay. The unit expects the contractor to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day). The assignment includes participation in orientations scheduled for 09/21, 09/28, 10/05, 10/12, and 10/19. Candidates must have at least 24 months of current operating room experience and a specific skills checklist aligned with the discipline.
