Operating Room Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Location: Mammoth Lakes, California. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care to surgical patients within the operating room environment. The role includes supervising personnel, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining aseptic standards to deliver optimal surgical outcomes.

Job Details

  • Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: California Registered Nurse License, American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications, minimum of two years of operating room experience, ability to work effectively with patients, peers, physicians, and ancillary departments.
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, minimum 36 hours per week.
  • Responsibilities include carefully assessing and monitoring patient status, documenting data through interviews and diagnostics, recognizing and responding to patient needs, anticipating potential issues, maintaining a sterile environment, and supporting equipment and supply needs.
  • Demonstrates competency in creating and maintaining a sterile field, understanding anesthesia drugs, and evaluating nursing interventions to ensure expected outcomes.
  • Additional Information: Experience with Orthopedics (Arthrex, Depuy, Syntes), general, and Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) surgeries is preferred. The role requires call coverage, with scheduled call shifts immediately following the primary shift. Dorm-style housing may be available depending on availability, with amenities including Wi-Fi, cable, and access to recreational facilities.
