About the Opportunity

This is an excellent assignment for an experienced OR nurse who enjoys a fast-paced surgical environment, strong interdisciplinary teamwork, and a 1:1 patient-care model. You’ll join an established surgical team in a 408-bed acute-care hospital with a well-equipped Main OR featuring 14 operating rooms, including a Hybrid CV OR, Cysto OR, and 12 multipurpose ORs.

Unit & Team Information

The Operating Room is supported by a multidisciplinary team of approximately 60 FTEs, including:

  • OR Registered Nurses
  • Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs)
  • Patient Care Technicians
  • Anesthesia Technicians
  • Service Line Lead RNs
  • Tech Service Line Coordinators
  • Clinical Charge RNs
  • Leadership and surgical services management

The day shift typically includes approximately 14–16 RNs and 14–16 CSTs, supported by two Clinical Charge RNs.


Surgical Environment

The OR performs a broad range of procedures, providing travel nurses with exposure to diverse surgical cases, including:

  • Angioplasty
  • Appendectomy
  • Biopsy procedures
  • Orthopedic procedures
  • Spine procedures
  • General surgery

No transplant procedures.

The department utilizes standard OR equipment and Stryker video systems.


Ideal Candidate

The ideal traveler is an experienced OR RN who is:

  • Patient-focused and committed to excellent patient experiences
  • A strong communicator with physicians, nurses, surgical staff, and other providers
  • Adaptable and comfortable in a changing clinical environment
  • Able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team
  • Experienced in maintaining high standards of patient safety and perioperative care


Required Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Minimum 2 years of recent/current hospital acute-care RN experience
  • Operating Room RN experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Active RN license eligible to practice in Colorado

Preferred:

  • Circulating experience
  • Scrubbing experience
  • Previous Meditech EMR experience
  • Experience with a variety of surgical specialties
