Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in a Level III Trauma facility. This position involves providing comprehensive perioperative nursing care across a variety of surgical specialties, including General Surgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology (GYN), Robotics, Urology, Hand Surgery, and Podiatry. The role focuses on patient safety, workflow coordination, documentation, and supporting surgical procedures to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days, 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday, 3 shifts per week, with call required and holidays scheduled. Call shifts include weekday call from 3 PM to 7 AM, and weekend call shifts of 12 hours from 7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS); a minimum of 2 years of OR experience required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Experience in General Surgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Robotics, Urology, Hand Surgery, Podiatry, and multiple surgical specialties.
- Additional Information: The operating room circulator nurse is responsible for patient advocacy, surgical case preparation, equipment management, documentation, specimen handling, medication administration, and coordinating multidisciplinary team activities. No floating required. Scrubs are hospital-laundered and available. EMR systems utilized include Medhost and PICIS. The position allows an option to work 48 hours per week with a maximum of 1 week of reduced time off (RTO). Fingerprints for all New Mexico travelers are required, and only submissions from agencies registered with the state are accepted.
