Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Operating Room. The registered nurse provides routine and complex nursing care while independently assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients. The role includes medication and treatment administration, patient and family education, clinical documentation, delegation, and management of increasingly complex patient needs.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per shift, 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or a compact state.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree preferred.
- One year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
- Additional Information:
- Provides care in accordance with applicable nursing standards and the nursing process.
- Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocols and monitors patient responses.
- Assesses and addresses patients and families psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs.
- Documents patient histories, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Identifies learning needs and provides education and resources to patients, family members, and caregivers.
- Weekend call may be required approximately once per month, with approximately seven call days per month.
