Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology RN for a night shift Med/Surg-Oncology position requiring 2+ years of experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• Inpatient oncology unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other units required, including the Ridgewood Observation Unit if assigned to Valley Hospital-Paramus or the Float Pool
• Meditech EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• 2 years of Med/Surg Oncology experience required, with less than 2 years requiring strong Oncology experience to be considered
• BLS certification required prior to start
• Prior travel nursing experience required with no history of clinical or professional cancellations
• Proficiency in IV therapy and infusions, accessing and managing ports, administration of blood and blood products, central line/implanted line care, PICC line care, starting and maintaining IVs, and chemotherapy administration required
• Experience in care and management of ports preferred
• Must pass a Basic Arrhythmia Exam with a minimum score of 80%, with no retakes permitted
• Proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination series and booster required
• One supervisory/manager reference dated within one year of assignment start required
• Current Nursys verification required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to inpatient oncology patients, including chemotherapy administration and central/PICC line management
• Must be proficient in EKG rhythm interpretation, heart rate calculations, and identification of atrial, ventricular, junctional, paced rhythms, and heart blocks
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel assignment
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are accepted at the local rate
• For candidates who have worked in New Jersey within the past 7 years, accurate employment history verification is required for facility review
• Lab work must be completed within two business days of offer acceptance to avoid assignment cancellation
