Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Oncology/Cellular Therapy night shift position requiring 2+ years of oncology experience and chemo certification.

Details

  • Inpatient Oncology unit specializing in Cellular Therapy including autologous transplant, allogeneic transplant, CAR-T, and TILS
  • IV chemotherapy administered prior to cellular therapy treatments
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30)
  • Patient ratio of 1:3-4
  • Every 3rd weekend required
  • Holiday cluster coverage required (2 major and minor holidays)
  • No call requirements
  • May float to oncology or medsurg units within scope of experience
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active RN license (IN or Compact) required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC) required
  • NIHSS certification required
  • OCN certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required for this unit
  • Experience with stem cell therapy, oncology, and critical care preferred
  • Skills in IV therapy, central line/port care, and chemotherapy administration required
  • Experience recognizing and managing oncologic emergencies preferred
  • Bone marrow transplant and CAR-T experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care for various cellular therapy treatments and associated chemotherapy administration
  • Monitor for and manage oncologic emergencies, chemotherapy side effects, and symptom management
  • Coordinate care and provide patient/family education and support
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Returning travelers are welcome back without any waiting period
  • Maximum RTO of 10 days, must be submitted with original application
  • Candidates must live at least 50 miles from all facility locations to be considered
