Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology RN for a 10-week winter coverage assignment requiring a CT or compact RN license and prior chemotherapy/oncology experience.

Details

  • Inpatient Oncology unit in a 186-bed Magnet-designated teaching hospital
  • Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts (0700-1930)
  • Will work every other weekend
  • Floating required as needed
  • 1:4 patient ratio
  • Epic charting system used
  • 10-week contract specifically for winter coverage

Requirements

  • Active RN license, CT or compact, required
  • Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
  • Previous Charge RN experience required
  • Trauma Level I experience required
  • Travel nursing experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • BLS certification required
  • Chemotherapy (ONS/ONCC) and OCN certifications preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, central line and PICC line care
  • Experience administering chemotherapy and managing oncologic emergencies (ATLS, anaphylaxis, extravasation, sepsis, spinal cord compression)
  • Experience caring for patients with various cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, leukemia, and lymphoma
  • Knowledge of psychosocial care including advanced directives, hospice, and patient/family education
  • 1 reference required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide direct inpatient oncology nursing care including chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and care coordination
  • Royal blue scrubs required
  • Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
  • COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious/medical exemptions only
  • No holiday RTO permitted during this assignment
  • Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed
  • Radius restrictions waived for this 10-week assignment
  • Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
  • Free parking available in any unrestricted space
