Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology RN for a night shift Med/Surg-Oncology position requiring 2+ years of experience and active CA RN license.

Details

• Oncology unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• Requires 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Floating required to Med/Surg, Med/Tele, ED, and Postpartum units based on census
• No on-call requirements
• Self-scheduling model used
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Chemo certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience administering and monitoring chemotherapy
• Skilled in blood product administration and port access/management
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drip titration
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
• 1 professional reference required within the past 2 years
• Current Nursys verification required, pulled within 2 weeks of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to oncology and telemetry patients in a Med/Surg-Oncology setting
• Work as part of a care team supporting chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous permanent staff of the facility are not eligible for consideration
• Time off requests must be submitted and pre-approved at the time of consideration; no additional time off may be added afterward
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate for those residing within 50 miles of the facility
