Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology RN for a 13-week assignment requiring chemotherapy certification and active VA or compact RN licensure.

Details

• 24-bed Oncology unit with patient ratios of 5-6:1
• 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM shift schedule
• Scheduled for 4 weekend shifts
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Meditech documentation system
• Chemotherapy procedures performed on the unit
• Unit supported by 2 PCTs per shift and 1 unit secretary during day shift
• Uses iMobile phones for communication with staff, physicians, and patients

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA or Compact)
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience
• Medical/Surgical background required
• ONC (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification required
• No certifications expiring within the first 30 days of start
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (Canadian SSNs not accepted)
• Professional references required (number varies by state)

Additional Information

• Follows Patient Experience protocols including whiteboards, bedside shift report, hourly safety rounds, and key words
• Required uniform is navy blue scrubs
• Unit recognized as a Dedicated Education Unit and for Most Improved Patient Experience
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
