Description

American Traveler is hiring a Surgical Oncology RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring oncology experience and TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Surgical Oncology unit with 21 beds and current census of 8-12 patients
  • Staffing includes charge RN, 3-4 staff RNs, and 1 PCT per shift
  • Patient ratio of 1:3-4, flexing to 1:5
  • Uses Baxter infusion pumps
  • EMR is Meditech
  • Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Rotating weekend requirement with no on-call obligations
  • Floating required to Hemeonc and bone marrow transplant units

Requirements

  • Active RN license, TX or compact required
  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Oncology experience required
  • Oncology chemotherapy certification (ONC) required for all Oncology RNs
  • Hemonc background and chemo certification preferred
  • US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
  • No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Care duties include replacing blood and electrolytes and managing neutropenic precautions
  • Unit follows strict intake and output monitoring protocols
  • CHG bath and linen changes required every 24 hours
  • Dressing changes required every 7 days
  • Line and cap changes required every 96 hours
  • No children under 16 permitted on the unit
  • Scrub color required is royal blue
  • Compassionate personality fit is emphasized for this role
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
