Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Outpatient Oncology Infusion position requiring 2+ years of chemotherapy/immunotherapy infusion experience and ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certification.

Details

  • Outpatient Infusion Center setting within a hospital
  • Provides chemotherapy-biotherapy infusions, blood product administration, IV iron infusions, port lab draws, injections, and IV fluids/electrolytes
  • 20-week contract
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
  • No weekends required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Every other holiday coverage required

Requirements

  • Active RN license in North Carolina (NC or compact) required
  • BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of chemotherapy/immunotherapy infusion experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
  • Outpatient Infusion experience required
  • Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
  • BSN or MSN from an accredited nursing school preferred

Additional Information

  • Deliver competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
  • Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process
  • Perform bedside point of care testing as needed
  • Provide patient and family education and emotional support during infusion visits
  • Assess patient learning needs, developmental level, and readiness to learn
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and plan patient care
  • Assess and anticipate discharge planning needs for patients and families
  • Participate in unit performance improvement activities and professional growth initiatives
  • Address cultural and ethnic considerations in care planning
