GENERAL INFORMATION

UNIT DETAILS:

• Number of Beds: 10

• Number of Staff: 4

• Patient Ratio: 2:1

• Equipment:

  • Ventilators

  • CRRT

  • Arterial Lines (A-lines)

  • BiPAP

  • FloTrac

  • IV Pumps

• EMR: Meditech

STAFFING:

Day Shift:

• 1 Charge RN

• Additional RNs based on census

• No Techs

Night Shift:

• 1 Charge RN

• Additional RNs based on census

• No Techs

TYPICAL HIRING PROFILE

SKILL SET MOST RECRUITED FOR

MUST HAVE:

• Strong ICU experience

• Experience titrating drips

• Experience caring for patients on ventilators

• BiPAP patient experience

PREFERRED / NICE TO HAVE:

• CRRT experience

• Transplant experience, including:

  • Kidney

  • Pancreas

  • Liver

TYPICAL PROCEDURES / PATIENT CARE:

• Care of critically ill patients

• Total patient care, including:

  • Turning and repositioning

  • Titrating drips

  • Dressing changes

  • Tracheostomy care

BEST PERSONALITY FIT:

• Builds good rapport with physicians

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

• ACLS
• BLS
• NIH Certification
• Registered Nurse License

FLOATING AREAS:

• All ICUs

• PCU

• BMT

WEEKENDS / ON-CALL:

• Rotating weekends
