Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse - Infusion/Oncology for an outpatient infusion center role requiring CA RN licensure and Chemo/ONS certification.

• Outpatient infusion center setting
• Provides oncology infusion and chemotherapy care
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) required
• Minimum 4 years of relevant nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, and central line care
• Experience administering chemotherapy via IV push, oral, and continuous infusion methods
• Ability to recognize and manage oncologic emergencies such as anaphylaxis, sepsis, and tumor lysis syndrome
• Experience caring for patients with various cancer types including breast, lung, colorectal, and blood-related cancers
• Knowledge of biotherapy and immunotherapy administration
• Skilled in symptom management for chemotherapy side effects
• 2 references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Deliver comprehensive oncology infusion care including chemotherapy administration and port/line management
• Manage and educate patients on treatment side effects and symptom control
• Collaborate with care team on psychosocial support including advanced directives and hospice care when applicable
• Handle cytotoxic spill management and body fluid precautions post-chemotherapy
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
