Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Oncology Clinic position requiring a CA RN license, BSN, and prior outpatient oncology experience.

Details

  • Outpatient Oncology Clinic setting at a teaching hospital
  • Day shift, 5x8 hours, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Ability to float to other facilities within a 75+ mile radius as needed
  • Epic charting system required

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required
  • BSN required
  • AHA BLS certification required
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
  • Minimum 2 years of Oncology experience in Med Onc or Surg Onc
  • Minimum 1 year of Ambulatory experience
  • Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
  • Outpatient Oncology experience required
  • Experience with Telephone Triage and symptom assessment required
  • Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
  • Preferred certifications include ACLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC), and OCN
  • 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide psychosocial care, patient/family education, and advanced directive support
  • Perform IV therapy/infusions, port care, and PICC line care
  • Manage care coordination, neutropenic precautions, and symptom management including nausea/vomiting, constipation/diarrhea, and dysphagia
  • Monitor and administer chemotherapy, including oral chemotherapy administration
  • Recognize and communicate abnormal lab values
  • Experience with specific cancer types such as lung, melanoma, ovarian/uterine, and ENT cancers preferred
  • BMT and inpatient oncology experience preferred
  • Locals accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
  • Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
