Description

American Traveler is hiring an Oncology Clinic RN for a practice nurse role requiring ONS certification and prior oncology outpatient experience.

Details

  • Practice nurse role in an outpatient oncology clinic setting - no infusion administered at this clinic
  • Patients seen include oncology patients before, during, and after treatment, as well as pre-op, post-op, and follow-up visits
  • Duties include telephone triage, inbasket management, and assisting providers during clinic visits
  • Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • May float between specialties within scope of practice
  • No weekend requirement
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active CT or Compact RN license required prior to start date
  • BLS certification required
  • ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) certification required
  • Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC) preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Prior oncology and ambulatory/practice nurse experience required
  • Phone triage experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Trauma Level I center experience required
  • 1 professional reference required

Additional Information

  • Assist providers with oncology patient care across the full treatment continuum including pre- and post-treatment visits
  • Facility is a Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center
  • Royal blue scrub color required
  • Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
  • COVID vaccine and booster required with medical or religious exemptions only
  • RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
  • Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
  • Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a traveler
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
