Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology Practice RN for an outpatient clinic role requiring ONS certification and CT/compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Practice nurse role in an outpatient oncology clinic setting (no infusion administered)
  • Patients seen before, during, or after treatment including follow-up, pre-op, and post-op visits
  • Duties include telephone triage, inbasket management, and assisting providers during clinic visits
  • Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • May float between specialties within scope
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active RN license (CT or Compact) required prior to start date
  • BLS certification required
  • ONS/ONCC certification required
  • Chemo (ONS/ONCC) certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience required (1.5 years considered with Level I trauma or travel experience)
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Ambulatory and phone triage experience required
  • Oncology-specific clinical knowledge including chemotherapy administration, symptom management, oncologic emergencies, and psychosocial care
  • 1 professional reference required

Additional Information

  • Assist providers with oncology patient care in an ambulatory clinic setting
  • Level I Trauma Center, academic medical center with 1,567 staffed beds
  • Royal blue scrub color required
  • Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
  • COVID vaccine and booster required with religious or medical exemption only
  • RTO requests up to 7 days can be auto-approved; anything greater requires additional approval
  • Former staff must be separated from the facility for at least 2 years before returning as a traveler
  • Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 75 miles from the hospital
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
  • Weekend shifts are not required
  • Block scheduling is not accommodated
